(JEFFERSON CITY, MO) — Senator Caleb Rowden, R-Columbia, issued the following the statement regarding Governor Eric Greitens:

“After a criminal indictment followed shocking allegations of misconduct, I called on Eric Greitens to resign as Governor because I believed he no longer had the moral authority to lead and could no longer effectively perform the duties of his office.

Based on the facts presented today by the House special investigative committee, I reiterate my call for the Governor to resign immediately. His troubling conduct is an insult not only to my moral values, but also to the values of millions of Missourians.

Should the Governor fail to resign immediately, for the good of our state and our principles, I believe the Missouri House should move swiftly toward impeachment.”
